gone, farewell,

leaving regret

for could've,

would've, should've,

if only

realized earlier,

but didn't,

wasn't possible

in haze

of ego

playing victim,

villain, hero,

right, wrong,

good, bad,

personas locked,

no winners

only losers,

smallness, fear,

precious moments

squandered, trashed,

by illusion

misplaced priorities,

protectionism, shallowness,

suddenly waking

to life's

irrevocable circumstances.
