Fall Equinox arrives

as seasons turn

bringing familiar scents

while Indian summer

rides shotgun now,

just another reminder

though things change

underlying structure remains,

holding baseline rhythm

for animal migrations,

plant, tree fruition,

my inner cycles

and outer preparation,

collecting winter firewood

in anticipatory dream

of Nature slowing,

folding upon herself

igniting potential when

coming back around.
