Doesn't get much better

than visiting extended family

grown close over years,

loved ones who've witnessed

our antics through time,

highs, lows, failures, successes,

holding hopes of best

for rest of life,

encouraging resilience during struggles

while witnessing the expansion

and contraction we've done,

plus willingness to reach

into Unknown for rewards

made of golden wisdom

gleaned from 'hard knocks',

the familiarity is comforting

like brother, sister siblings

in 'great loving clan'

who recognize 'soul shining'

as interwoven connection ingredient,

sharing laughter, stories, events

which become living mythology

ably resonating in hearts,

minds, spirits, aging bodies

that on cellular level

feel safely at home

with trusted old friends.
