There are no guarantees
when waking in morning
that things will unfold
according to preconceived notions,
and often people worry
about feared troublesome possibilities
believing fretting insures success,
it's blessing to say
I've outgrown that strategy
by now welcoming surprises,
change, trusting in perfection...
imagine 'new lover' visiting
unannounced, bearing dinner entrees
to feed body, mind,
filling senses, sparking emotions
while exciting my spirit
partaking lustily of rarity,
life's unforeseen glorious gifts
received from daily shifting.
