Often habits die hard
especially when conjuring familiarity
with same thought process,
actions, hoping different results
only to find same,
if this defines insanity
then many people are,
as is our nation,
because we fight evolution,
seem reticent to learn
anything new about ourselves
or try deviant strategies
that birth original dynamics
we must respond to,
adapting physically, mentally, emotionally
toward desired optimal outcome
overcoming obstacles of fear
again entering life's river
revisiting our navigating ability.
